Giving Back to the Community

Cutting Edge believes responsible business gives back to the local community.  We volunteer time and resources to improve the facilities of organizations such as the Hessed House shelter in Aurora and Christ Lutheran Academy in Plainfield.   Cutting Edge also donates excess materials to Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore which uses the proceeds from selling these items to fund new homes.  When you work with Cutting Edge you can be confident that your partnership will give back to your community.

Cutting Edge owner Kevin Schroeder is an active servant for many beneficiaries.  Kevin is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisle.  With wife Kim, he leads a small group ministry focused on helping families grow together in faith.  Kevin also spreads God’s Word to youth as a teacher in Trinity’s “Grace Kid’s” ministry.

Serving as youth sports coach with the Naperville Youth Football League (NYFL), Wheatland Athletic Association baseball program and Bethany Lutheran School basketball team, Kevin seeks to provide a positive experience for the young athletes he coaches.  Kevin focuses on creating a life-long love and respect for sport and teaching valuable life lessons through the various experiences of playing sports.  Kevin was awarded the NYFL “Dave Sixta Award for Outstanding Coaching” in 2008.  This award recognized Kevin’s commitment to progressing the positive ideals of the NYFL.

Kevin also volunteers with several Christian-based organizations such as Cub Scouts, Trinity Lutheran’s annual Clinic, DuPage County Pads, and Feed my Starving Children.

Kevin ventured to the small village of Kake, Alaska in the summer of 2008 to participate as a coach for an Alaska Mission for Christ Basketball Camp.  The intent of the camp was to reach-out to at risk children and teens and use this unique platform to teach them valuable life lessons.
